The Big Christmas Post...

We had a great Christmas this year! On Wednesday Matt worked a half-day and after Spencer's nap we drove down to Centerville to spend Christmas with Matt's family (we switch off every year, next year is sunny St. George). Here are a few pics before the big dinner...

After dinner we re-enacted the nativity. Matt was Joseph, I was Mary, and Spencer was baby Jesus (a very large baby Jesus). Here is Matt helping me to Bethlehem in my delicate state...

Here we are in our stable with a little sad lamb (my nephew, Jordan) standing by.

Lets take a closer look at that lamb...

Apparently he was ashamed at being made to dress up like a wussy lamb, poor Jordan. After the nativity we opened up some presents (sorry, no pictures, we got too caught up in the excitement of opening presents). We stayed up late visiting and then got to bed around midnight. The next morning we woke up, ate breakfast, and then opened up the rest of our presents.

Spencer had some cute Christmas pajamas but when I went to take him out of his crib in the morning he had peed through them...oh well. I got a kitchenaid and Matt got a GPS.Spencer's grandparents loaded him up with toys, books, diapers, and formula. He wasn't really interested in anything but the wrapping paper though.

We came home last night and our driveway was buried under snow drifts. Spencer and I had to wait in the car while Matt dug us a path to the garage.

Then Matt got to spend about an hour and a half shoveling the driveway while I made pizza with my new kitchenaid.

We hope everyone had as merry of a Christmas as we did. Christmas is a good time to reflect on the blessings of the year, our family has gone through many changes this year and we definitely have much to be thankful for!

We're Back!

We finally got our Internet up and running at our new house so now I can get back to doing important things such as blogging...

The Monday before Thanksgiving we closed on the sale of our house in Washington Terrace, we were out by Tuesday (thanks to Matt's family, they loaded up the moving van while Matt was at class, thank you!), and then closed on our new house in Smithfield on Wednesday. We moved into our house late Wednesday night, luckily my two little brothers and Cara and Mitch were able to help. We got things unpacked enough to fall into bed around Midnight and then the next day was Thanksgiving.

This year we stayed in Logan and had Thanksgiving at my sister's house. My two little brothers go to USU so, since all the kids are in Cache Valley now, my parents came to us. In the morning the boys played football and then in the afternoon we ate the delicious Thanksgiving dinner my sister made (thanks Cara!). After our post-eating-ourselves-silly-nap my mom, Cara, and I went to the new Twilight movie while the boys tended the kids. We thought it was great but all agreed we were glad we didn't bring our husbands, I think they would have died from the cheesiness!

Here are a few pics of the big day...Above you'll see that we had 6 pies...and only 8 people to eat them, but we managed it over a few days. The cute Christmas pajamas are from my mom. My little brother Blake is in the bottom corner, isn't he cute?

The next few days we spent unpacking. My mom was nice enough to put up my Christmas tree for me (thank you, thank you, thank you!). Spencer loves to look at the lights...and eat the ornaments.

We're mostly unpacked now, Matt finished up his classes for this semester on Monday (only 1 class left and he'll be done with his Masters!), and I'm almost done with my Christmas shopping. Now we can relax a little and enjoy the holiday season!
