We're Back!

We finally got our Internet up and running at our new house so now I can get back to doing important things such as blogging...

The Monday before Thanksgiving we closed on the sale of our house in Washington Terrace, we were out by Tuesday (thanks to Matt's family, they loaded up the moving van while Matt was at class, thank you!), and then closed on our new house in Smithfield on Wednesday. We moved into our house late Wednesday night, luckily my two little brothers and Cara and Mitch were able to help. We got things unpacked enough to fall into bed around Midnight and then the next day was Thanksgiving.

This year we stayed in Logan and had Thanksgiving at my sister's house. My two little brothers go to USU so, since all the kids are in Cache Valley now, my parents came to us. In the morning the boys played football and then in the afternoon we ate the delicious Thanksgiving dinner my sister made (thanks Cara!). After our post-eating-ourselves-silly-nap my mom, Cara, and I went to the new Twilight movie while the boys tended the kids. We thought it was great but all agreed we were glad we didn't bring our husbands, I think they would have died from the cheesiness!

Here are a few pics of the big day...Above you'll see that we had 6 pies...and only 8 people to eat them, but we managed it over a few days. The cute Christmas pajamas are from my mom. My little brother Blake is in the bottom corner, isn't he cute?

The next few days we spent unpacking. My mom was nice enough to put up my Christmas tree for me (thank you, thank you, thank you!). Spencer loves to look at the lights...and eat the ornaments.

We're mostly unpacked now, Matt finished up his classes for this semester on Monday (only 1 class left and he'll be done with his Masters!), and I'm almost done with my Christmas shopping. Now we can relax a little and enjoy the holiday season!

Well...

We found a house! I'm not going to post a picture because I'm sure there's someone out there who would just love to kidnap my gorgeous baby but it's in Smithfield (a town just north of Logan). It's 10 miles from Matt's new job and a few blocks away from the highschool so we think it's a pretty good location. The only bad thing is we'll be like 15 minutes away from my sister, maybe that will be good though so I don't drive her nuts going to her house every day. We're going to close on it the day after we close on the sell of our current house so we can move right in. I'm soooo glad because I was dreading moving twice.

Posts without pictures are no fun so I'll post a few of Spencer...

Spencer is doing great, he rolls all over the place but hasn't figured out crawling yet. He'll get up on his knees and stick his bum in the air (it reminds me of a stink bug) and then launch himself forward, it's fun to watch.

P.S. Mindy, sorry that I wasn't able to find a house within a mile of your apartment, I'll still visit you a lot though! :)

He Sits!

Isn't my baby amazing? He can already sit up on his own, it only took him 6 months to learn!

Sadly, that is the most exciting thing I have to post this week. Not a whole lot has been going on since we accepted the offer on our house. Tomorrow Matt, Spencer, and I are going to go to Logan and try to find a house. If we can't find one we like then we'll start looking for an apartment. We have to be out by the 24th so hopefully we can find something fast! I'm already dreading packing everything up and yesterday I got a notice in the mail saying I have to report for jury duty the week we're moving. I'm all about doing my civic duty but it's the worst week because we're moving and it's the same week as Thanksgiving. Matt told me I should tell them I'm prejudice and bipolar.

SOLD!

No, this is not our house. If it was, we wouldn't be selling it.

But we did sell our house today! I guess we haven't officially sold it yet, but we accepted an offer and it's all in the works.

I put a "For Sale" sign up in our yard last Monday and the next day we got a call from a Buyer's Agent saying he had a client who wanted to see our house, how lucky is that?! It's nice because we don't have to pay a realtor on our end, we just have to pay 2% to the Buyer's Agent.

We aren't making much of a gain, but we're just happy to be making any gain at all when the housing market is so bad. We have to be out by the 25th of this month so we're going to have to scramble to find a place in Logan. I'm thinking we'll just rent until the holidays are over and then get serious about buying or building a house. If anyone knows of any good places to rent in Logan let me know. Val, are you out there? If you know the name of the place you guys used to rent (not the most recent, the one before that) let me know, I always thought your place was nice.

Halloween

I know I'm a little late but I thought I should post some pictures from Halloween. Spencer was a hot dog. (Or a "hot gog" according to my niece Marin, she's been telling everyone for weeks, "baby Spencer's gon' be a hot gog!")

We went to Cara and Mitch's for a little Halloween party. We ate dinner and then took the kids trick-or-treating. My niece Marin is at the perfect age for trick or treating, after one house she said to me, "Avree, people just keep giving me candy!"

Gosh how precious, my husband pretending to eat my baby.

Spencer kept patting Marin's back and grabbing her arm so she was trying to scoot away from him.

This is Spencer and Marin with Scotty and new baby girl Allie. We're hoping that Spencer will grow up and marry Allie someday.

Well Spencer seemed to enjoy his first Halloween. However, as you can see, it wore him right out!
