Sorry Spencer, no rabbit!

A few nights ago Spencer and I were reading a bedtime story and there was a picture of a baby. I asked him, "Should we get a girl baby or a boy baby?" He thought about it for a moment and then said "Um, how 'bout a rabbit?!" Well this afternoon I had my big ultrasound and unfortunately (for Spencer) I am not going to give birth to a bunny this December. Instead we are going to get to welcome another baby BOY into our family! When I think of having two little brothers running around our house I get weepy (in a good way). Needless to say, we are thrilled!The little stinker kept his arm right across his face the entire time but I did think the profile picture was cute.I was very happy that he was measuring right on, after about 12 weeks Spencer always measured a few weeks early. So here's hoping for a baby that is less than 9 pounds that will slide right out! :)

May, June, & July (in a nutshell)

I know I haven't been that great at blogging lately; I usually blog during Spencer's afternoon nap but these days I sleep instead. Anyway, here is May, June, and the 4th of July in a nutshell...

May: Matt and Spencer planted a garden and my tulips finally bloomed.

June: We went on the annual Ethington family vacation at Matt's grandma's cabin and Matt and I took a trip to California. My mom tended Spencer for 5 days while Matt and I went to Catalina Island and Newport Beach.

4th of July Weekend: We went to Freedom Fire at the USU football stadium (kind of like the Stadium of Fire but not as cool). My sister blessed her baby boy (I didn't take any pictures). We went to the Cruise In and saw some sweet cars. On Monday we had a BBQ with Matt's sister's family and went to the neighborhood fireworks show. Spencer loved the sparklers even though he doesn't look like it.

I'm sure you're all dying for a pregnancy update so here it is: I'm getting bigger by the day (seems like the hour sometimes), I feel great, and we find out what we're having on July 21st!

I'm not really sure what the best way to say this is so I'll just out with it...Ethington Baby #2 will be arriving sometime around December 14th of this year. I am 12 weeks along and pretty much done with being morning sick. As some of you have probably guessed, we have been waiting awhile for this. We are absolutely thrilled!

What We've Been Up To...

First off, we now have a 3 year old! On April 21st Spencer turned 3 years old. He had a party at our house with some friends and family. His cousin, Marin, was a big help opening his presents.

He had a Toy Story cake (bought at the Lee's Bakery of course).

He also had a party with his Ethington cousins at Matt's sister, Katie's house. I'm glad that Corban's birthday is close to Spencer's so we can mooch off the amazing cakes that Katie makes.

Before the Ethington party Katie organized a little picture scavenger hunt at the mall. The picture below is my favorite. I love Spencer's arm placement, I think he may have a future career in modeling.
We also went to Baby Animal Days with our friends, the Wilsons. Spencer and his girlfriend, Kate, had a blast!
It doesn't look like it, but he loved riding the horses!

On the Friday before Easter my sister, Cara, had her 3rd baby. His name is Andrew, he has the best chubby cheeks. We took Marin to see him for the first time in the hospital and on the way home she said "I just love that baby!"Here is Spencer with his Easter loot.

Our friend, Matt Bateman, got his Master's Degree from USU a few weeks ago so they came up the night before and we celebrated Cinco De Mayo at the Nelson's. Love this bunch of people!
(Cara would probably like me to remind everyone that she had a baby 2 weeks before this photo was taken. Also, Sara, the one on the far right, is having a baby next month)

New Post...

I received the following post on my facebook page from my good friend, Mindy:

"In 2008 you had 45 blog posts. In 2009 you had 28. In 2010 you had 26. And in 2011 you are currently on track to have 12. One word: unacceptable! You better get on top of this problem, Ethingtor. You have four hours to take some initiative in the matter, or else ..."

(No, "Ethingtor" is not a typo, it's a sweet nickname.)

Anyways...Mindy is right, I have slacked on my blog . I think I had 45 blog posts in 2008 because I had a chubby little baby to show off. Now I just have a thinned-out 2 year old to post about.

The only thing I could think of to blog about was Spencer's recent ski trip. Last Saturday Matt took Spencer skiing for the first time. 2 years old isn't too early to learn to ski right? First off, here is his season pass for next year...

Here are a few pictures getting ready to go skiing. Of course Mitch and Matt didn't take any pictures of the kids actually skiing.

I'm pretty sure Spencer had a good time because he keeps telling me he wants to go "Ski again with Dad." Hopefully next year I can post some pictures of him speeding down a hill.
