Hip Hip Hooray!!!

Spencer slept through the entire night last night!!! He went to sleep at about 10:00 pm and didn't wake up until 7:30 am this morning! I woke up at 6:30 am and rushed into his bedroom and tickled his cheek to make sure he was still breathing! I know he probably won't do it again for awhile but at least now I know there is hope!

4th of July Weekend

We had a great 4th of July weekend! We kicked off the holiday on Thursday night by going to Founders Park in Centerville (my husband's home town) where there was a concert and fireworks. Matt's mom brought a yummy picnic dinner for everyone. We got to see a lot of Matt's friends, including Jeremy and Jordan Jensen and their adorable little girl Adalynn who are living in Ohio right now. I was worried that Spencer would be scared of the fireworks but he did really well, he just had very big eyes the whole time!

The next morning we woke up and went the the Centerville 4th of July parade with Matt's family. The oldest cousin, Calvin, watched out for the little cousins and helped them get candy; he even had to tell a few kids to go away because they were in "Ethington territory".



That afternoon we went to a park and had a picnic and then played softball. After everyone got good and dehydrated we went to Memory Park in Salt Lake and cooled off in a little stream that runs through the park. We got some cute pictures of Spencer and his two cousins. Spencer, Gabriel, and Corban were all born within 2 months of each other.

I think these 3 little guys are going to have a lot of fun together through the years to come!

Today was Corban's baby blessing. Matt's parents and all of his brothers and sisters and their kids were able to attend so we got some great family pictures, here are a few of them...

And last...Spencer blowing spit bubbles. Overall it was a great 4th of July weekend. We had a lot of fun with Matt's family and ate a lot of great food!

Shots

Yesterday was Spencer's 2 month checkup (he's really 9 weeks though). It was quite traumatic for the both of us because he had to get 4 shots. I felt so bad, he was loving the crinkly paper on the table and smiling and being so cute, then they had to give him the shots...we both cried.

You can see the bandaids on both of his legs. I've been giving him baby tylenol in case he gets a fever, I think I'm probably a little over-paranoid but oh well. Other than the shots, the appointment went really well. He weighs 13 pounds 6 ounces and is 25 inches long. He's greater than the 97th percentile for height and at the 95th percentile for weight, apparently he's a big boy (but I guess we already knew that). Here's a picture of my "little" fatty...

Utah Summer Games Triathalon

This is Team Ethington. Last year they won the gold medal in the Men's Relay at the Utah Summer Games Triathalon. This year they went back to defend their title...and almost succeeded. They came away the proud owners of a bronze medal each. Matt did the swimming (sorry, I don't have a good picture of him in his speedo), Brad did the biking, and John did the running. As you can see, Spencer thoroughly enjoyed the event, he was very proud of his daddy! Congrats Team Ethington!
