We have some exciting news...we're going to move back to Logan! Matt accepted a job at a CPA firm up there and he's going to start sometime in December. We've made so many great friends here in Washington Terrace that I'll be sad to leave; but I'm really excited because my sister, her husband, and cute little girl live in Cache Valley. We're also trying to talk my parents into retiring up there in a few years. Now comes the fun task of trying to sell our house...during the holidays...during a recession...can't wait! So if you know of anyone looking for a house in Washington Terrace (South Ogden area) send them our way!
Other news: Spencer had his 6 month checkup today. He's 18 and 1/2 pounds and 28 inches long which puts him at the 90th %ile for weight and height. I guess he's proportionate. Well, actually his head is at the 70th %ile so he's kind of a pin-head.

This is Matt's intramural football team from when we were in college at Utah Sate. The guys in back from left to right are Rueben Nelson, Brad Ethington (Matt's brother), Mitch Moncur (our brother-in-law), Paul Wilson, and Matt Bateman. The two in front are Kyle Diamond and my Matt. We've sure had a lot of fun over the years with these guys and their awesome wives!

Winter is coming...
Every morning my friend Kara and I go on a walk. It's really great for my sanity because I get some exercise and get to talk to another adult. Kara and I were in the same major at Utah State; we're both dietitians which means we're both nerds who talk about nerdy things on our walks, it's quite enjoyable. Anyways...our walks will soon probably have to end because it is getting too cold outside and I just know one of these days I'll wake up with snow covering the ground. On Friday it was pretty cold outside so we bundled our little guys up; I took a picture because I didn't know how many more chances we'd have to go out.
I love this little sweater and hat; my mom gave them to Spencer last Christmas (even though he wasn't born yet). The size is 12 months, luckily she suspected I'd have a fat baby so she bought a big size.

California Proposition 8
Well I usually don't post about this sort of thing (this blog is mainly to show off pictures of my cute little baby Spencer) but today I read a letter from the First Presidency of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints to Church leaders in California.
The title of the letter is "Preserving Traditional Marriage and Strengthening Families" and was read to all LDS congregations in California on June 29, 2008. In short, the letter includes information regarding Proposition 8, a proposed amendment to the California state constitution providing that "Only marriage between a man and a woman is valid or recognized in California." Proposition 8 will be voted on in California on November 4, 2008.
A part of the letter reads: "The Church’s teachings and position on this moral issue are unequivocal. Marriage between a man and a woman is ordained of God, and the formation of families is central to the Creator’s plan for His children. Children are entitled to be born within this bond of marriage." I agree with this statement.
The end of the letter states: "We ask that you do all you can to support the proposed constitutional amendment by donating of your means and time to assure that marriage in California is legally defined as being between a man and a woman. Our best efforts are required to preserve the sacred institution of marriage."
The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints has set up a website about this issue at http://www.preservingmarriage.org/ The website includes the letter I've talked about, an interview with Elder Dallin H. Oaks and Elder Lance B. Wickman on "Same-Gender Attraction", a link to http://www.protectmarriage.com/ where you can donate money or volunteer, and other resources regarding the divine institution of marriage.
I know many of us don't live in California and won't be voting on this issue but I feel that it is beneficial for those who support Proposition 8 to get involved because if same-sex marriages continue to be recognized in California then other states will likely follow suite.
P.S. I won't be offended if nobody comments on this post, I just wanted to get my opinion out there :)
